| Ms. A.L.V.Karthikeye, a Social Worker, Political Scientist and Associate of Gandhi Global Family hails from Andhra Pradesh. She did her Post Graduation in Political Science from Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Soon after her Post graduation, she worked as Research Investigator for seven years with Institute of Development and Planning Studies, Visakhapatnam in collaboration with Andhra University and taken up several projects for studies |

which were funded by State Planning Department (AP) and also supported by Action Aid, Oxform America, Overseas Development Administration (ODA), UK. All these projects were organized under “Action-Research-Action” programme wherein the problems get identified and appraised to the Government and accordingly the Government implements the Developmental programmes in the respective areas, which will again be taken up for study by the IDPS and the same reported to the respective funding Agencies and Government. |

The studies mainly focused on the problems of the down trodden sections of rural women, urban slums and the tribals of Visakhapatnam District. Specific studies covered the areas of weavers’ community, women development through micro–credit, survey on socio-economic conditions of the urban slum dwellers within the same community etc. The Slum improvement programmes of Visakhapatnam District, AP funded by ODA, in collaboration with Municipal Corporation of Visakhapatnam District received special commendation by British Government. |

During the survey work done in the rural areas of Payakaraopeta Mandal of Visakhapatnam District, she had also worked as the President of Women Federation for Payakaraopeta Mandal for one year. |

On a different facet, she has worked as Administrator for a multi-disciplined professional college in Karnataka offering medical, dental, engineering and other technical courses, for a period of 11 years. She has handled the works related to overall administration, Counseling for students and their parents, faculty recruitment, and all other Secretary Functions. She amassed rich experience in hospital and medical college administrative works and has knowledge of the regulations of Apex bodies concerning medical and technical education. |

She has emerged as an educationist and expert in providing guidance to students in choosing the career oriented courses. |
